Post subject: | burmuda grass in vegetable garden |
Any ideas on how to rid my vegetable garden of burmuda grass? Last spring I had to mow between rows! How pathetic is that? I tried spraying with 20% vinegar with orange oil, but this became too expensive as my garden is rather large. What can I do ? I actually have more problems with the grass than with weeds. Thanks, Kathy |

Sorry to tell you this, but digging it all out is the best solution. |

This is the best way I learned so far: Get one of those flat edged shovels with a good sharp edge. Dig out sections at least 3 inches deep and more if you can. Throw these in the compost pile or on an area that needs more dirt & grass! Fill in with good garden mix - compost, cornmeal, greensand, etc. and to stop grass & weeds from coming in, keep mulch on the ground where you don't have plants. It will save you a lot of frustration and anger in the long run! Kathe |
