My tomato plant had several blooms on it. I had 2 of them flower beautifully and close to fall off, but instead, about 1/4 inch up the stem it is broken off, nice and smooth. There are 2 others that opened, set fruit and are doing well. What is the deal with the ones that broke off. Will this happen often or is there something I need to do differently? I am going out to take a picture now, or try too and will post what I am seeing. |

It could have been a caterpillar or even a squirrel that chewed the stem off. You can spray it with BT early in the morning and if was a caterpillar, it will kill it. It is not harmful to any beneficial unless they get in the wet spray. |
