Post subject:  Herbicide Contaminated Soil

I am new to this site and just about at the end of my rope with herbicide problems.

Last spring the local feed store sprayed the field that borders my garden with a 2,4-D - Dicamba herbicide and killed most of my garden(about 1/2 acre). The Texas Department of Agriculture did an investigation and found the feed store in violation of the herbicide labeling.

I was going to just write it off to a lost season except that this year nothing is growing in the back half of my garden, planted Roma green Beans and Clemson Spineless Okra there. Going on 3 weeks and not a thing sprouting.

Question is, how do I go about testing the soil for residual contamination? And more importantly how do I remedy his in time to salvage this garden year.

Their is likely 2 years of contamination in the soil. He started spraying the year before last but I was to naive to think that someone would be that careless with spray and just chalked that lost year up to a bad garden season, everyone eventually has one. I put 2 and 2 to gether when I caught him last year spraying to within 10 feet of the garden border with a 10 mph wind blowing it directly over my property.

I dont know if this is a proper place to find this kind of help but I can find it nowhere else, no one seems willing or able to even provide an opinion on this much less advice on how to deal with it.

Call Texas Plant and Soil Lab in Edinburg Texas about their testing services. They have expanded their services to include helping with toxins. My detox program is explained in the Library of the web site.
