I already have a vegetable garden setup now, and it is doing well, but I am looking get another one going. What are some good things to plant at this time of year? They of course will have to be pretty heat tolerant.

The heat is pretty tough on lots of vegetable plants, but I try to give some of them some heat relief with window screen material or netting from the fabric store and it really helps. Also, if you have a spot to plant that gets afternoon shade, it helps too.

That is a really good idea. I wish I could do that. However my property is like a wind tunnel. I have no windbreaks so anything of that nature would be ripped into ten thousand little pieces and thrown across my acre lot into my front yard. :( Thank you for the idea though. Do you have any ideas as far as what to grow?

I bought some lima bean seeds at Grand Prairie Feed this afternoon. Does anyone know when (or if) I should plant for a fall crop, or if they will just die in the heat?

Plant the lima bean seeds about July 25. Also, see the thread titled "planting crops for fall garden". I posted the guidelines for fall garden planting out of Texas Gardener magazine.
