I am confused about Red Bell Peppers. Do they exist or are they just a green bell pepper that has ripened? I have let Green one's ripen but they don't taste as sweet as the one's you buy in the grocery store. I have seen Red Bell Pepper seed but wonder what they truly are. |

Most, but not all, start off as green and then ripen to different colors depending on the cultivar. The flavor of the pepper can change depending on several factors such as how much sun it gets and the temperature. Check out the info below to give you an idea of the many varieties. In the 'color' column, it indicates the starting color and the one that it ends up being when mature. http://www.backyardgardener.com/veg/gre ... #sweetbell |
