I go back and forth about if I should remove bush bean plants after the initial harvest. I know I can get another harvest of smaller beans if I water good and fertilize a bit, but I wonder if the garden space would be better used to pull them and put in something else? What do y'all do?

I've tried keeping them and some years they do good, some years not. Now I usually pull them and replant the same beans for a fall crop. The answer to your question is do it your way.

Yeah, this time I decided to remove them, but instead of pulling them I cut them close to the ground, They were pretty healthy looking and the roots have a lot of nitrogen nodules on them. I'm going to put some tomatoes for fall and maybe another sowing of Big Red Ripper peas in the space. I'd be curious to know what other folks have done.
