Bedford, TX, need suggestions for low profile plants for black gumbo soil with morning shade and afternoon sun. Ground is very moist.

You should pick up Howard's Texas Plants book. I got mine used at Half Price Books for $5.00. Lots of information for trees, shrubs, flowers and grass.

Dwarf Wax Myrtle, Crape Myrtle and Dwarf Yaupon holly. You might also try some of the antique roses. The Antique Rose Emporium has a wealth of info online.
