What the heck is going on with my Dusty Millers. I planted several throughout my gardens this Spring from purchased 1" nursery pots. They have grown beautifully to 18" x 18" and now some of them are dying stem by stem. I have rich organic, well drained soil. Not all are affected. I sprinkled Sluggo around incase I was having grub damage, but I've never been able to find anything. Is this a case of simple root rot from the heavy rains? |

Hi Old Girl, Sluggo is not for grubs, but for slugs and snails. The damage from slugs and snails would be holes in the leaves. http://www.pestproducts.com/sluggo.htm It does sound like the heavy rains are causing root rot. You might want to gently dig up one of the plants and take a look at the condition of the root system. They need good drainage. http://www.gardenguides.com/flowers/ann ... miller.htm Good luck, Newt |
