Post subject:  Hibiscus With Yellow Leaves

I have 4 hibiscus (tropical) plants in pots that I have been overwintering in the garage. I pull them outside from time to time when the weather warms up, then move them back in when it gets cold. They seem to be doing ok, but lately each of them have been getting 1 or 2 yellow leaves. I have considered re-potting them, since they were planted in Miracle Grow potting soil before I became organic, although have pretty much been in the organic program since them.

Any advice?

1 or 2 yellow leaves doesn't sound abnormal for plants that aren't getting much sun. If you can post a photo or two to illustrate the problem, that would help. Repotting wouldn't hurt, but for the time being you could water them with a splash of compost tea (Garrett juice or your own if you make it) in the water. And don't over water, they don't need as much this time of year. Feel the soil first to see if you're watering the plants at the proper amount.
