Howdy Everyone,

I know that many of the bulb will often push out the tips of their leaves as early as Nov/Dec here in North Tx, but should I be able to see the immature flowers (green) down between the leaves of the Hyacinths? I dont remember if this happened in the previous years. And if this is a potential problem, is there anything I should do? These particular early pokers were planted last winter and are becoming "naturalized" I would think.

How deep were they planted. People usually plant the bulbs too shallow which causes them to come up too early in our mild temps. You should measure the height of the bulb, multiply by 3 and that's how deep you should plant it.

Sandy,

I am sure you have hit it dead on. Planting depth...makes all the sense in the world. And I am sure their full sun location during these past couple of warm weeks is messing with thier clock. Thank you so much.
