Are there any dwarf or smaller varieties of Texas Sage?
Thank you-

I thought I had one. It was advertised as "dwarf" but after a couple of years I had to keep pruning this huge shrub from under the window it was trying to completely cover and I finally removed it. There may actually be one out there, but I haven't found it! Good luck!

How hard can you cut one of these back? My full sized Texas Sage lost some center branches after the last snow and now there's a huge hole in the middle. If I cut it back to 12 inches or so will it grow in with a better shape or do I need to pull it out and start over?

The question might more accurately be asked "just how hard do you have to work to kill one of these?"

The one I cut down kept sending up shoots for months. I had to put a big pot saucer over the top of the root where the stem had come up and it finally stopped trying. I think if you cut it way back you'll be surprised at how soon it's a large shrub again.

I had a few things get smashed in the snow also, and have been doing some odd pruning as a result. Cutting the whole thing back is probably going to result in a better looking plant. My juniper looks kind of like a saucer since the center of it cracked (and had bugs running in and out) so I took the entire center of it out. It's one of the big hedge types, not a tree, but it still looks a bit odd. And I've had to prune the rosemary, but I know what to do with all of those extra branches! Mmmmmm! Chicken!

Thanks! I had a feeling it would be fine to cut it back hard.
