Post subject:  Iris bulbs out of control

I have an area filled with irises and they are starting to spread in under the shrubs and over the edging on the garden. When and how do I thin them? They seem to be a long chain with tubers and I can’t determine if there is a break point or if I just have to pull the entire plant that is going in the wrong direction. Any advice?
Thanks so much.

I just take a sharp shovel and break them up and pull them out to thin them. I am sure you can find someone who would be happy to have them. Best to do thip opposite the bloom time. If they bloom in April, do this in October. These are really tough plants, don't worry about handling them too gently. Just be sure to keep the leaf stems intact and you are good to go!
