Does any one know how to effectively get rid of wild grape vine, poison ivy, and briers? It is taking over the edge of my back yard and is very close to completely covering the canopies of some of my trees. I'm afraid of the trees dying and then losing half my backyard to a creek (it's a steep slope and I'm afraid without the trees the yard will slide). Regarding the grape vine: I've tried pulling the vines out, which is extremely difficult since they entangle themselves in the trees and some of these vines are at least an inch thick. I've tried cutting some of what I can, and I've tried borrowing some of my mom's goats. The problem is it seems every time I get rid of some of it the roots start producing a ton of shoots. Is there something I can spray that will get rid of the poison ivy, briers, and grape vine but not harm the trees or wild life? I don't want my yard getting to the point of my neighbors where you can't even see through it.

Thanks!

No plant can stand the repeated removal of the top growth. Keep the goats after it and it will all go away. Or you could spray it with vinegar but you have to keep after it. Every time you see a shoot, spray it or cut it off.
