I guess I'm the lone low-cutter responding here':D', but I have new Zoysia sod thats a little over a month old. I mowed yesterday at about 1.75" and will eventually get it down to a thick, dense, weed-free 1".
I've been completely organic since installation and I know that within a few months my yard will stand out because of all the SBM, CGM, and ACT being applied now!'8)'
I've learned quite a bit from Tricky Grama and others on this site. It's well appreciated.
Yes, I heard zoysia should be mowed between 1" - 2.5".
Just remember, the shorter the grass, the shorter the roots. Shorter roots do not do well in drought situations, but we haven't had such situations here in Texas lately!
Note: Zoysia is pretty to look at, but does not handle foot traffic well.
