When do you plant St. Augustine grass? I have an area under the shade of 2 overlapping trees that does not get enough sun for bermuda. What is the best brand of St. Augustine? |

You can sod St Aug any day of the year. I prefer to not do it on rainy, hot, or freezing days. Be sure you roll it down to make good contact between the sod and soil. |

I was planning on planting little sprigs, not sod. Can you plant them now? What is a good hardy brand? |

Thanks for the info, Lou. I will check out sodsolutions.com. When I lived in Southern California I planted Raliegh St. Augustine and it worked really well; grew in very little sunlight. My neighbor suggested Palmetto because it freezes around here in the winter for several weeks at a time. Hewitt is just south of Waco. |
