Post subject:  Re-Sodding a damaged and diseased lawn....looking for advice

I've been struggling with a dying lawn for a year now and have finally given up. I'm going to re-sod the entire lawn and I'm looking for advise. I'm not sure what killed my previous lawn, but I've been told that it could have been a combination of things including grubs, fungus, etc. I plan to rent a sod cutter to pull up the existing lawn and dispose of it then lay down compost and finally lay the new lawn down over the compost. Are there any tips that you veterans can give me on watering the new lawn and any precautions that I might take to insure that whatever got the last lawn won't get my new one? Any advice is appreciated...thanks.

Wait! Before you do anything apply corn meal at a rate of 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. I've seen that many times where the entire yard goes south and nothing you do helps. Corn meal works! You can have your own lawn back in 21 days. Try it you have nothing to lose but the cost of the corn meal.
