Hi,

My vegetable garden has been taken over by grass. I was going to try and get rid of the grass using vinegar. My question is, how long do i need to wait to plant my spring vegetable plants?

Very little time at all. The vinegar will kill the tops of the plants, not the roots, but if you hit it a couple of times within a few days you'll use up any energy stored in the roots. By the time you're ready to pull out the dead weeds you can put in the new plants.

Dilute vinegar acts like a fertilizer, so it's not going to cause any harm once it has worked on the weeds and evaporated. Whatever is left behind is beneficial.
