My St. Aug is starting to yellow in large spots. I applied Texas Greensand about 3 months ago. It did not seem to help. I have 3 pics to post. But I do not know how to post them.[/url]

I don't know of a way to post pictures here. Some people will post them on Yahoo or some other site and then post the link here.

Texas Greensand is a miracle worker IF you needed iron. If not, then it don't do jack near as I can tell. When did you fertilize last and with what? If it has been more than 90 days, you probably need to fertilize again.

Have you gotten a lot of rain recently?

I used Texas Greensand in June. Thas has been that last thing I have done to my yard. We have had quite a bit of rain.

If you put down greensand in June, regardless of how much rain you got, the problem should not be iron. At this point I'm thinking you just need nitrogen. I would fertilize with corn meal at 10-20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Water that down onto the soil and give it 3 weeks to green up. Next summer, fertilize on July 4th to keep your grass green through the summer and then fertilize again on Labor Day.

If you have not done so at all this year, I would suggest 10-20 lbs of dry molasses per 1000 sq. ft. too... it does wonders for kickstarting the microbes and the St. A.
