Bermuda should be cut at the lowest setting you can use without scarring. Preferably under 1". Bermuda will grow thickest at low heights which will help control weed establishment.

Fertilize 3x per year in early spring, early summer before the heavy heat & fall after the heavy heat with something that offers a nitrogen boost like corn gluten meal at 20 lbs per 1000 sqft.

Also, you can apply rock powders annually if you are getting too much yellow.

If you are new to the organic program, consider giving your lawn a jump start by applying dried molasses to encourage microbial growth.

Once you've established healthy soil with a good mix of rock powders your fertilizer requirements will go down.

With spreader. It's granular. I shoot for 5-10 lbs. per 1000 sqft. twice a year but you can go up to 20 lbs.

You can get a 50 lb. bag at nurseries or feed stores for less than $30. Spreading is easy as long as it stays dry, it won't burn or hurt anything if you get too much in any one place.

If you want the bermuda to become the most dense, you can go ahead and fertilize monthly or every other month. If you don't fertilize enough it will thin out dramatically.
