Hello, I live in Missouri City, TX which is a part of Houston and would like to start the Organic Lawn Care system.I have St Augustine grass and I think a bermuda might be mixed in ( wish i could get rid of) but anyway it's more SA. How long do i have to wait to start the organic process since i've used chemical products in the past. I would like to weed and feed using the cornmeal & alfalfa pellets.

You don't need to wait! Don't use any more chemicals, though if there are signs of stress from the chemicals you have used there might be some mitigating treatments (see Zeolite: http://www.dirtdoctor.com/organic/garden/view_question/id/763/).

Here is a link to the general organic program: http://www.dirtdoctor.com/organic/garden/view_question/id/1822/

Here's a link to Howard's newsletter about the uses of cornmeal:

Here's some information about using alfalfa products: http://www.dirtdoctor.com/organic/garden/view_question/id/2223/

You will also probably want to include dry molasses in your plan: http://www.dirtdoctor.com/organic/garden/view_question/id/3028/

Finally, how you water is an important part of a good organic program. Water deeply less frequently and your yard will thank you: http://www.dirtdoctor.com/organic/garden/view_question/id/2020/

Good luck, and welcome to the site!

If you follow the regular watering plan and mow at your mower's highest setting, the bermuda will eventually get shaded out. If you forget about watering once a week, the bermuda will come back and take over as the St Augustine dies away.
