Help, please. When I run a search of topics, forums, etc. I see the search results but can't see the individual items. When I click on a link, I see nothing below the green bar. This happens only on my laptop (Sony, VGN-A150, XP, Netscape 7.2, cable modem). I have allowed pop-ups for this site, but there must be another setting to change. All ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

I have found that you need to allow 3rd party cookies for this discussion board to work. You can dis-allow the pop-ups, but cookies need to be enabled. Don't know why ????

Sorry to take up more space but it's making me crazy.... have just learned that, after I do a search and see the list of topics, if I click on the topic as everyone else does, all I get is the logo and the green bar... BUT if I go to the far right of the topic line and click on the little page icon that says "last post", then I can see the whole thread!

We might have an issue with your browser....Let's try this:

Assuming you use Internet Explorer (IE):

(1) What are the settings shown when, in IE, you go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy? [Note it and tell me]
(2) Then, reset it to: Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy to "Medium High" Then try again and tell me what happens. Make sure to close all IE windows before you try.
(3)Then, if it is still happening,In Internet Explorer, From Tools-Internet Options, under the General tab, click on Delete Cookies and Delete Files. Then try again (after closing all IE windows) and see if it happens.

Let me know please!

I agree that it must have something to do with the browser. I use Netscape 7.2, but for this test, logged into IE. The initial privacy setting was at medium, I couldn't access the search links. Then changed it to Medium High; no luck. Then deleted cookies and files, still no luck. It's very strange and, like most computer issues, I'm sure there's a simple answer... but "it" should know what I'm trying to do!! Perhaps a run thru the compost pile??? Thanks!

Are you running any kind of security or firewall software?

Not intentionally... but, I just now see Norton Internet Security is enabled and Norton Anti-Virus Auto-Protect is enabled.... possibly something in there? I'm on the road for the next few days and will hook up and try again by Saturday/Sunday... thanks for your interest. And you're sure it's too soon for the compost.... can't have too much, you know!

The anti-virus shouldn't be a problem, but the Internet Security might...When you get a chance, try to turn it off temporarily and see if the problems go away....If you need help with that, let me know!

Try updating your Norton Security products. I had a similar problem that went away when I did an update.

I'm back, and still no luck. Just downloaded multiple Norton updates (for some reason, I resist it's insistent directives to download, but that's just me). Can't help but feel it's some simple adjustment, since the pc will perform just fine. Open to all ideas, and thanks to all!
