CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A BALLPARK GUIDELINE FOR WHAT CLEARING A VACANT LOT OF VERY HIGH WEEDS SHOULD COST? WHAT FACTORS DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF TIME/COST ?
ALSO, WHAT SHOULD THE REMOVAL OF A HEALTHY MEDIUM SIZE TREE RUN ON AVERAGE?
THANKS

Hi THI,
The cost of such projects depend on several things, one of which would be your location. Here in the Mid Atlantic area between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. it can cost $400 or more for one tree. If access to the area is difficult, it can cost more. Grinding the stump can be an additional $50 to $100 depending on how deep it needs to be ground and how easy access is to the site.

Not sure what weeding would cost. You say "clearing a vacant lot", but I'm not sure you want the weeds cut down or completely removed. I would suggest you contact at least 3 companies for each service, ask for estimates AND references and CHECK the references. It's amazing what people will reveal when questioned about service. Also find out how clean the site was left after the removal of the tree(s) and weeds.

Also, please remove the caps lock on your keyboard. In computer language it means you are yelling and it's hard on the eyes.

Thanks,
Newt

Thanks for your reply, and the hint re: CAPS
I am not yelling, although I normally do talk rather loudly, so perhaps the caps is kinda apropo....

Hi Mary,
You're very welcome! I talk loudly too, so I understand. :D

Btw, in rereading my first post to you, I didn't mention that lawn mowing companies would probably be the ones I'd call for the vacant lot.

Hope you can get these things done reasonably.
Newt
