| Post subject: | Amending sterile soil |
I have had trouble with weeds in my new garden plot and last spring covered the area with black plastic and left it there until this weekend. I have been told that since the plastic was used for so long the soil is sterile. If this is so, how do I amend it for growing this spring??? |

Probably the cheapest & quickest thing would be to apply dried or liquid molasses to the area. If your budget allows, use the other soil amendments available. The basic organic program below should help. http://www.dirtdoctor.com/view_question.php?id=94 |
