I was given a potted, large (9'X 6') NORFOLK ISLAND PINE. It has been outside in the summer, inside for the winter. Being it's considered a tropical, if I plant it outside, does it have a chance? Our ground is primarily clay and we live near Gainesville, Texas. It is too big to continue moving it around and actually too large for a indoor residence. |

Norfolk Island Pines like moderate to cool temperatures. Either of our temperature extremes, especially the cold winters we have (anything below 50 degrees) will kill it. Tony M |

If the tree is too large now for your home, you might try to sell it to one of the interior landscape designers that service shopping malls and large businesses. Just a thought. |
