Is it possible to put too many/much coffee grounds in the garden? Is there a recommended amount such as lbs per foot or depth?

That tells me how much to achieve pest control, but how much can I put for fertilizer/soil amendment?

No limit. Although if you put down too much at one time as you are getting started with coffee grounds, the good microbes will not be able to decompose it fast enough. You will find that the anaerobic microbes will step in and you'll smell a sour odor from the soil. That is the smell of ammonia gas (Nitrogen) leaving your property. You don't want that. I would start with 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. In two weeks repeat. Then you can start to move up to 25 or maybe 30 pounds per 1,000. You could then move in a different direction and apply 15 pounds per 1,000 every week. If you decide to increase above that, then there is probably a theoretical limit around 80 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Beyond that you might be smothering the grass with too much stuff.

Is there any problems with coffee and Ph? I have heard that they are very acid?

Did you hear that the coffee beverage is acidic or that used coffee grounds are acidic?

The beverage is acidic, but after the coffee grounds have been rinsed in boiling water for 5 minutes, they are no longer acidic.

I collect used coffee grounds from my work and take home about 10-15 lbs each week. Instead of throwing it directly into the flower beds or lawn, I put it in the compost pile. It's a great "brown" filler. Since the grounds are already very small, they break down quickly, so it's easy to throw them into compost even when it's almost completely finished.

Another use I've found for coffee grounds is getting rid of moles. Occasionally, I see a mole trail in my front yard. I apply several handfuls of fresh used coffee grounds directly on top of the trail and water it in. That seems to get rid of the moles.

I save my own coffee grounds over a week or two and add them to my vermicomposting bin. My worms love it!
