Help! The north side of my house has a narrow, constantly shaded side yard. The yard gently slopes away from the garage and almost constantly has about an inch of standing water on it. I have heard varying advice on building up the soil, adding drains, etc and know there is no water leak on my property (other than the neighbor's sprinkler system running down their slope in my direction). In three years my attempts have failed so I am now ready to resort to a professional consult. Does anyone know a landscaper that will help me fix this drainage problem quickly and at a good rate?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

I see you live in Fort Worth, so you might try the NARI in Fort Worth. They may not have any listed on the site, so use the contact option to ask them who they could refer.

I think the best solution is to fix the basic drainage. If you have standing water, you need to let it out to the lowest spot. If you call a finish grading contractor, he can help you. He will bring a back hoe in and drag the hoe lengthwise along your property line to the low spot allowing the water to drain out. Then you can relandscape in there.

In the mean time, you have a real problem with dying organic matter under the water. It might be smelly from anerobic bacteria when it gets dug up.

Or any of the contractors that were mentioned above should be able to do the same thing.
