are wilting and killing my squash vines. I've heard injecting Bt into each stem will deter them. Any experiences?

The worms are the larvae of the squash vine borer. Injecting Bt will not deter them, it will kill them. It is a lot of trouble, though. Beneficial nematodes are a good control. It would be wize to check the base of leaves often for their little reddish colored eggs. You can kill them with orange oil spray. When the yellow flowers first bloom, spray the plants with a Bt product.
