I have always sprayed my garden regularly with Garret Juice with either orange oil or habanero/garlic tea, but last year 1) the squash vine borers got several of my squash and pumpkin plants, and 2) I couldn't keep the stinkbugs out of my beans and tomatoes. Can anyone give me some pointers for this year? Thanks.

When the garlic/pepper spray fails, I switch to Neem. It is organic and safe. I've heard a lot about some new sprays made from plants. Howard talked about them Sunday; don't remember any names, etc.

I hand pick stink bugs and it usually works well enough. The squash vine borer is a difficult problem to deal with. The most successful method I have heard or read about is to use Bt injected into the base of the squash stems. It's difficult, but one of the few effective methods I know of.
