We have been totally organic in our yard for the past 6 years. We use the natural fertilizers, pest controls, beneficial nemotodes, etc. We never bag our grass, but mulch it in. Our front yard is very spongy. When you walk across it or mow it, deep tracks are left in it. It's not like walking on a carpet, but very spongy underfoot. We have been told to watch how much water it is getting and we have definitely reduced our watering program. It is still spongy. What could be the problem and how do we resolve it? :?

What type of grass do you have?

Have you done a top dressing, or amendments only?
