We have black clay soil; I would like to put a "pretty tree" in the front lawn. We have high lines by the road and not a big front yard, so it doesn't need to get real big. Any suggestions? :?:

I was just looking for a pretty shade tree on the smallish size for black clay and I narrowed my list to three: Lacy Oak has beautiful leaves and grows 20' to 30' tall and wide. Chinquapin Oak - 40' to 60' tall, 20' to 40' wide. And Texas Ash - 30' to 40' tall, 20' to 30' wide. Kent

Also check out Eve's Necklace. It's smaller than the trees suggested above, but a great looking tree all the same.

Good luck
