I'm pretty much a live and let live gardener...Not too much mercy for the fire ants or poison ivy, but usually willing to share.
Within the last few weeks we have found several scorpions in the house!
We are not messy people. Sure, with three kids there are some crumbs here and there...
I have read that the best way to get rid of them is to not have any rocks around the yard...I reallllly don't want to get rid of all my stepping stones, edging, etc...
Is there a good biological control for them?
We have a blacklight and plan to go hunting for them tonight!

Dusting the attic, crack and crevis for the scorpions is probally the best way to eliminate the problem.

I have found that boric acid works really well in stopping them from entering your home. Glue traps would be my second step. Having a clean house or dirty house will not affect them coming in.

A over population of fire ants should kill any thing that crawls LOL.

Boric acid should work great in the house. Use it at the door and window edges/ledges where they enter.

Every fall I repot the houseplants that have spent the summer outside because of earwigs and scorpions being brought into the house in the pots & soil. Is there a systemic type product I can use in the place of repotting all those plants? or is it better to repot them and give them fresh soil for the in-house wintering.

Ouch. Scorpions are a pretty serious problem.
I've had some success in the past with boric acid, and I usually prefer to go the organic route, but scorpions really scare me. I was just about to use Terminix when the boric acid seemed to come through for me. After about 2 weeks of using it, the scorpions seemed to disappear, which just made me breathe a sigh of relief! Another week and I probably would have given in to using professional (and possibly even chemical ><) pest control.

I have had good luck keeping scorpions and ants out of my house by spraying around the base of my slab with a mixture of 2 oz. of orange oil to a gallon of water. I wet a 3 to 4 inch band of exposed slab once a month or after every rain that wets that area.
