A girl I work with is having trouble with outside rats (yuck) eating the herbs in her garden. I know she has tried fox urine but that didn't work. Anything you all can suggest?

There are several tips out for sustainable gardeners to either repel pests like rats, or merely give them something else to chew on, instead of your wonderful crops.

I use hot pepper/garlic spray applications on my crops to help repel the pests.

I have also grown extra herbs, like mints, garlic, onions, and border cover crops like sunflowers, msarigolds, etc. to keep pests away from my vegetable crops.

Happy Gardening!
