Try this:

DIRT DOCTOR’S POTTING SOIL – 8 parts compost, 4 parts lava sand, 2 parts decomposed granite sand, 2 parts cedar flakes, 1 part zeolite, 1 part horticultural cornmeal, 1 part dry molasses, 1 part Texas Greensand.

If I had to make a potting soil with your ingredients here's what I would do. I would mix the two composts together in equal parts then I would mix the peat and coco peat together three to one ( I personally don't like coco peat much). Next I would throw the wood shavings in my compost pile and now I would be ready to get started. Before I start though I would be concerned about drainage and aeration. If my compost was course I would fell fine but if it was fine I would be concerned. Mix 4 parts compost mix, 2 parts peat mix and 1 part fine sand. Next (this is a test) fill a pot with your mix and tap the pot a couple of times on the ground or a table then top up with the mix (don't fill it right to the top). Pour water in the pot till it comes out the drain holes keep going for a few more seconds then stop. Does the water continue to drain through the mix or does it just sit there for a while? How much does the mix level drop? If the water drains really slow after you saturate the mix then you may not have good enough drainage you'll need to go get a courser sand or some perlite and add one part till the mix drains well after saturation otherwise when the top half of your pot is bone dry the bottom half will still be soaking wet. If the level of the mix drops quite a bit You'll likely have too fine a mix causing poor drainage and poor aeration - do the same as above. Last I would pot up, plant and see how the plants do before I do any fertilizing (your compost should do the job)

Remember this is only my opinion, there is some voodo behind potting mixes and everyone does it differently but almost all look for drainage and aeration( they kinda go hand in hand anyway).

have fun and don't be afraid to experiment.

I am trying to mix up HG's recipe for potting mix and repot all my plants that I plan to winter over in the garage, but I am having difficulty finding zeolite and don't know exactly where to find decomposed granite sand.
Can anybody help me with sources? I live in Aubrey just northeast of Denton.
