I am hoping someone can explain why what I saw worked.
While working at a florest who also carried plants
a gardenia plant came in one day off the truck from Florida.
It looked "dead" to me. All the blooms were essentially
dead, or so I thought by looking at it. All the leaves were
totally wilted. It wasn't a lack of water that was going
to revive this plant, as I have had that experience and
it failed to come back with just water. The woman who
cared for the plants saw it and said it's not dead, watch she said.
She proceeded to pour about a cup, I guess, of coffee
onto the soil of the plant. Within 30 min. that plant looked
as alive and vibrant as any plant could. I was shocked,
but delighted. I always wonder if when I see a plant wilt
indoor that is, if I should go get some cold coffee and do
this. Anyone care to share their experience or opinion?
:D

I can't explain the coffee trick but I can tell you that I’ve done the same exact thing with Bioform liquid. I bought the worst looking plant I could find for a video we were shooting. The checkout person felt sorry for me and asked if she could get me a nicer plant. I took it home, mixed up the Bioform and sprayed it. The next day it looked perfect. I'm sure you can so the same thing with Garret Juice or compost tea or a number of other things. I think that foliar feeding is so instant and the plant takes it up so efficiently that if there is some life left it will come back.

Hey Tony,
Silly you, tee hee, you must have read too fast. I mentioned on purpose
about the soil because it was within 30 min, not overnight that the coffee
went right into the soil, and right up the roots, I guess. 30 minutes or
atleast not much longer. The effect was so instant it was like
watching a plant experience what I do if I drink the leaded coffee,
phew, peal me off the ceiling.
Can't go dimping coffee, or spraying it onto the flowers of a gardenia plant
and expect it to be healthy, as they are white fragrant,
and extremely delicate blooms. But, thanks for the info, it's
good to know I can get some and it will bring the dead
ones back, if I wanted to plant any. Thanks for the info.

I have a plant with thick stems and white flowers that has looked dead because of wilting from heat and lack of moisture. It is in a hanging basket and all the stems were drooping over the sides. I watered it with plain water and within 30-45 minutes it looked 100% better. The stems back in their normal straight-up position and the flowers were full again.
