I'm getting several brown patches in my yard - a few in my St. Aug. but mostly in my bermuda. It first appears as a patch of shriveled blades and within a few days it has turned brown. We've put down cornmeal regularly for fungas. My organic advisor said grubs don't live in bermuda because it has runners and that dog urine won't cause it either. We've been organic for about a year now and it's getting frustrating not knowing what it is.

In St. Augustine, try an application of horticultural cornmeal. For Bermuda, I can not say anything, but (in my humble opinion): lucky you!
I realize many people appreciate bermuda, but to me, it is a weed. Everyone has their own opinions which is what is great about the world we live in. Diversity is the key. If everyone liked the same things... you can imagine how boring the world would be. And how very limiting this would be to our existence...and how this limitation could be detrimental to our survival. Viva la Difference! It makes the world go 'round!

Not seeing the yard I can only guess. I say bring in the nematodes. If you have been using corn meal, the liklihood of it being a fungus is small. So I'm thinking it's insects. Beneficial nematodes should help you out.
