I need to know how to apply diatomacious earth. Does it need to be watered in after applying to the yard?

swolf1106,

For killing off fire ant beds, IMO, you will have greater success using one of the soil drenches containing (among other ingredients) molasses, citrus oil, and a compost tea. GreenSense and Gardenville both have these products in ready to use form.

The DE when used for control of roaches etc. must be dry to be effective.
