What is the proper way to prune a Leland Cypress; how do you prevent a LC tree from growing to high?

Thank you,

JW

I'm afraid the way to prevent a Leyland cypress from growing too high is to not plant a Leyland cypress. They grow very fast and very tall.

Read through the Wikipedia article and you'll see that lawsuits have been fought and won over trees growing so tall and blocking out all of the light to neighbors.

Has this been recently planted, or is it established? This is the kind of tree that you may want to replace rather than battle its growth potential.
