For the past 3-4 years I've lost grapes due to disease. I think now the issue is the enumerable whitefly infestation that causes the disease. These whiteflies have what appears like light brown stripes on their wings. I'm starting with insect soap and then plan on ordering some lacewings. I sprayed the plants just awhile ago, and most of them used the trellis or walls or me to land on and then flew back to the grape plant. Not a lot of leaves yet so I could spray over and under all of them. But after awhile I went back, shook the plant and there was still a "fluff" of white in the air. Does the soap take a while to kill them? Or is it just a deterrent? I used ivory soap and water.. 1/2 bar to 16 cups of water.
