My crape myrtles are luring ants to our home...i'm thinking of removing them and planting other ornamental bushes/trees which do not attract ants.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's the droppings from the aphids which attracts the ants, not the tree itself. Treat the aphids, and the ants go away.

sandih is right. Ants are there for a reason. Trees will not attract ants to your home. If the ants get in your home, it is for water. If they are carpenter ants, they are there because you have moist wood for some reason. In that case, you need to treat the cause of the moisture. In the mean-time, you could call Rid-All and ask that they treat your home organically..that is, if they are in your house.
