Have 70 or so tomatoes that vary in size of a button to a baseball. I'm surprised they survived the summer heat, but they started blooming again about 6 weeks ago. With the freeze coming the day after Thanksgiving, I'm wondering if I should cut the biggest ones off along with the vine or just hope for the best? Any suggestions :?:

Where do you live? Are your tomato plants in a place where you can put a shelter around them? My Dad grew tomatoes (about 20 plants) through the end of December one year by putting up 4' fence posts around the patch and surrounding them with polyethylene sheeting on the sides and top, and putting a couple of heat lamps in there with them. That was in SouthEast Texas where the winters didn't get below freezing too often...

I used to live up north, and come the late fall we would take the green tomatoes and wrap them in newspaper and storage in the bottom level of the barn (cool and dry). During the winter we would take some of them place them in a brown paper bag and leave them on the kitchen counter. They would them rippen to red.
