Hello, I am new to this forum, but have been reading it often. I really like this site with all the information. I do have a question. I just started composting and making by own compost tea. I would like to be able to see the microbes in the tea to make sure I am doing it right, can that be done with a microscope? I have a ( I think a pretty good one) that I have been using and I don't see anything after two batches :( ? Maybe microscope not powerful enough or compost no good? I make my own compost with food scraps, grass clippings, leaves, coffee grounds, old hay and horse manure. I am so excited about getting this going. I want to use compost tea on everything!!!! :D . I appreciate all comments and suggestions.

If you go to the video library, there's a great one that shows exactly how to make good compost tea. I can't speak to the microscope issue, but I know if there are sugars, itty bitty bugs will come to eat them. Apparently aeration with an aquarium pump is also helpful to insure quality brew. That's something I need to add to my shopping list, have not used that before.
