We noticed batches of small holes in our live oak tree bark this weekend. They are in small clusters and start about 5 feet from the ground. Looks like a Chinese Checkerboard in the areas that have this. Is it an insect or a woodpecker or something else? See picture attached

The sap sucker might return to see if any insects are in the holes.
