We live in Parker County & use well water to drink & irrigate. We have tons on white Mildew Mites that are killing some of our perennials, etc. How can we get rid of them without affecting our water?

I have white mildew looking areas on various plants & when I touched it, bugs jumped off the plants. I assumed they were called mildew mites because they appear to look like mildew. If they're not, please let me know what they are!!

I have exactly the same thing on some plants, fortunately not in the vegetable garden. I thought they were some immature leaf hopper or something, but I'm not sure. I have been using orange oil and molasses spray with fair results. It really cut their numbers back, and if I would be more persistent, it would probably work much better. I had the same problem last year, and it didn't hurt anything at all, but because of the white stuff on the plants, I just thought it was some kind of fungus, and it cleared up after the rainy weather was over and the weather got hot. I never really looked up close, so I didn't realize it was any kind of insect at the time. I just figure when it dries up around here, they will start to subside.

I also live in Parkery County. I didn't know that the mildew mites have something to do with being on well water. Have you confirmed this or ??
Do these mites have anything to do with the powdery mildew too? What have you tried? baking sode, lemon dish soap mixture? :o
