I have lots of galls in my liveoak tree. It is interesting because there are hundreds of honey bees buzzing the tree and doing something to the galls. I understand the galls are due to wasp laying eggs, etc. Are the honey bees eating them or what?
Is this anything I should worry about?

Later in the fall I will cut back the grass, expose the root flare, and apply sick tree treatment.

Thanks. :)

Thanks for the link. Still not sure what all those bees are doing to the galls...they are bees not wasps. They (the bees) must be beneficial.

Thanks.

if you could get an image of the bees that might be useful.

Attached is a picture of the tree and several of the bees. I suprised myself and were able to get several close-ups using the "close-up flower" option. The bees did not care at all.

Background on the tree...this was a sapling that we got at Euless arbor days several years (7?) ago. I babied it in a pot for a year then planted it and babied it some more till it took hold and started growing. Now it makes a nice story! :)
