I believe NJ is in zone 7. I'm new to container planting and want to know what to do during the winter. My patio container (5 gallon) plants are Zebra Grass, Blue Lyme Grass, Blood Grass, and Astilbe Flamingo.
I thought about moving the containers against the foundation of my home during the winter the theory being that heat loss from my home might prevent root freeze. But I also have another idea, my den is very cool during the winter months probably 63 degrees or so. Would you move 7 container plants inside for the winter or move them against the foundation? Or, perhaps someone could suggest another alternative. Thanks in advance.
