With a death in the family, I suppose maybe the tree did not become ill overnight per se, but it sure seems to have happened very quickly, as I am in this area of the yard a lot!
It has been very hot and dry, but the tree is in a rather low area...of course when it is 112 in the shade iven the low areas are dry. We had rain last night, and this is when the tree seemed to fail almost within hours!
The old growth is being affected first: branch tips are still green, then as you move closer to the trunk they are yellow, then brown ...
There is another tree right next to it, also a cypress, that seems ok and it is in an area not as low as the sick tree...
Any ideas?
This tree has made it three years now and I would hate to lose it!
Thanks so much for all your help, mary

If you can get water hoses out there to them, then get them out there. Do you have any way of posting a picture?
