I've convinced him that we won't be doing this anymore or else. But in the meantime can I put the cut grass in my compost pile? I will be using the compost for the lawn and my vege and flower gardens. I hate to just throw the grass away, it seems like such a waste. Teresa

Yes, use it up in an active hot aerobic compost pile.
If you like, you can add a few sprinkles of dry molasses or any other sugary product to the pile, in order to speed up beneficial microbial growth and speed up up decomposition.

Your final mature compost product in about 3-4 months or longer, will be perfectly safe and fine to use anywhere in your garden or lawn.

Happy Gardening!

The guy across the street used weed and feed by mistake one year and the next day he was out on his lawn with a vacume cleaner-lawnmower looking thing sucking it all up,it was so funny.
