I have lost 3 tomatoes plants to some little critter that chews the main stem halfway thru, then the top portion just flops over and dies. I have the plants enclosed in a dome (netting attached to fence), so don't think it is a rabbit. I would think a rabbit would actually eat the plant...

Any ideas on how to save my other 3 plants?

Sounds like a cut worm. They did the same thing to my pepper plants.

A gardener is these parts said that cutworms will cut all the way around a plant. These plants were nibbled into only about halfway from 1 side only.

??

Perhaps a mouse or rat may be getting in there.

Maybe I need to get a cat. But then it would use my garden as a toilet. I haven't seen any rats around. The fence is made of 1/2 inch screen supported by another sturdy fence. My guess is snails. Need a resident possum.

I put out SLUGGO. Hopefully they will go to wherever snails go when they eat SLUGGO.
