I guess after the snow melted, the mockingbirds decided spring has arrived. Two of them in my front yard were flying from tree to the ground and back again. When on the ground they were holding up their wings and flashing their white wing patches. I did not see any cats so guess they were challenging each other.

Since Sunday's weather was so beautiful, my husband and I spent the entire day cleaning up the yard and gardens. The mockingbirds were out in full force singing like crazy and following us around the yard, I assume to take advantage of any tasty bugs we might uncover. They like to perch at the very top of a holly bush to sing, even though the neighborhood cats like to lay on top of the fence that runs next to the holly. I've seen them co-exist at this spot for over 2 yrs.
