I can't find any recent posts on bamboo control so am curious if in addition to cutting down the invasive shoots (from the bamboo jungle in our neighbor's yard), it would be good to saturate the remaining stub with either vinegar or straight orange oil...or something else? They've come in under the fence previous years, but never as bad as this spring. I swear they can grow 12 inches overnight.

The best way to get rid of bamboo is to grub out the roots and rhizomes. It can be done.

Sigh. Yes, I know but difficult when the bamboo originates from under the fence in the neighbor's bamboo jungle next door. Am experimenting with cutting the stalk as deep into the ground as I can reach then dousing the exposed stem with 20% vinegar. Will report back. Thanks.
